STARTING FRIDAY MORNING 10.30am am, finishing 4.30 pm Sunday .
Accomodation : Camping in tents
Amenities : There are toilets on site and we have a scout hut for indoor activities if its raining and with a kitchen for cooking .
Location : Come join us in the beautiful hills of Huntley in West Gloucestershire on a colossal 1500 acre piece of land with a sunset hill point , witches cave , monk-jack and kingfishers ! There is no light pollution , its a beautiful site.
TIMES : Every day please arrive by 10 .30 am for the teachings .
FOOD : Please bring your breakfast , your lunch and dinner will
be included .
Wilderness Living - Level 1
This is a course showing you the basics of bushcraft allowing you to
take your first steps into deep nature work and it's the first level of all
of our courses which is compulsory if you want to study more levels
with us. It is perfect for adults who want a taster of the basics of living
in the wild. We will take you through the doorway into a state of deep
nature connection, which will profoundly change your inner and outer
Your life will never be the same again . So come switch off your phones
for a weekend , unwind , wittle wood , play games , make fire and
delve deep , it's time to get back your common sense and learn who you ar and
why you are here on this planet.
This is a 3 day gathering , with specialised skills every day , choose how many days you wish to come for .
The first night there will be a great sacred fire and storytelling of the
old ways and an introduction to cordage. Then onto the main subjects
of fire, shelter and food, interspersed with games ,survival challenges
and primitive cooking techniques.
Everyone will muck in with keeping the camp clean , washing up
caretaking fire and other camp jobs .
We will challenge you , be warned throughout the whole weekend ,
leaving you inspired and thirsty for more .
All the skills taught will be learnt with spirit skills alongside , we cannot
learn one without the other ,
it is essential in our world today that we get back to our roots , the earth
is crying out for us to connect and remember. When you have the spirit
skills to , thriving in the wild becomes so much more easier .
Skeleton structure for the day :
Wake up at 9 am - have breakfast and do some stretching / tai chi
start skills of the day at 11 am , finish at 6 pm for dinner and camp
cooking and storytelling from the daymor from our lives ...
The gathering will be interspersed with Games :
We will throw in a bunch of games to keep you entertained and on your feet , ninja and jedi games , and one night game .

DAY 1 :
Master Fire class day
Bow drill fire - fire by friction training
Avoid the common mistakes everyone makes when first trying (and failing) to light a fire;
how to care take and build different fires
Primitive cooking techniques
The 3 vital elements for successful fire-lighting;
How to identify the best sources of kindling;
How to identify and select the best firewood. Without fail;
How to light a campfire with only one match;
Successful fire-lighting with sparks;
How to select and prepare the most common natural tinders;
How to leave no trace of your campfire;
DAY 2 :
Camping sites that could get you killed (or where not to put your tent, tarp or other shelter);
The key considerations when choosing where to build a shelter;
The 5 factors you need to know about to achieve a thermally efficient shelter;
How to build a great shelter without any tools - a debris hut
Lightweight emergency shelter options;
How to quickly and efficiently erect a lightweight tarp;
BOWS / ARCHERY
Craft a large bow out of hazel
Learn how to shoot with your bow
Hunting practise and logistics of the hunt
Jedi skills / stalking and routines of invisibility to enable you to connect to nature with the 5 senses and move with the ebb and flow of nature
DAY 4 :
FLINT KNAPPING STONE TOOLS / AND BONE
- MAKE ARROWHEADS, KNIFE OR AN AXE
Learn this fine Paleolithic art form which is essential for wilderness
Spend most of the day learning how to make arrowheads ,
flint knapping is a very fine art and needs a lot of time and patience to
master , so we will delve into the basics of this subject .. We will wittle
down a wooden handle for our knife .
We will cover all the subjects of working with bone , wood and
flint / stone to give you a greater understanding of what's needed and
how to make tools out of these materials to be able to hunt and take
care of yourself in the wild .
We will learn to work with bone to make needles and
arrow heads and also discuss other ways to make tools .
Pay per day- as you wish :
High /waged income : 90 per day ....430 for 4 days
Low income /benefits/furlough : 80 per day ... 320 for 4 days
